THE ARTIST AND

HIS TIME

Chronology of a constant search: Jorge Geisse’s visual work through his eras and disciplines.

Jorge Geisse was a devotee of the art that preceded him, which led him to experiment with the most diverse techniques used by the masters of the past. His works sometimes seem to evoke classic canvases, creating a classic atmosphere through the use of color and an execution that highlights his strength and sensitivity to the human condition.

FACES

For Geisse, a face was a challenge to explore gazes and expressions. His brush conversed with the support, regardless of the material, awaiting each temperamental brushstroke.

Scenes and Figures

Plasticity, lines, and figures were always a temptation for his temperament. Geisse poured his passion for the city and the social being into vibrant, intimate scenes, filled with colors ready to engage with the observer.

Exteriors

Life, flora, and fauna fascinated Jorge Geisse, and through that fascination, he painted them as if he himself were a part of them.

Chronology

21 exhibitions in 8 countries across two continents bear witness to Geisse’s art. However, in his craft as a visual artist, he went much further, fulfilling countless commissions for his own work and requests for reproductions of classic and ancient artists for years.
